    we greatly enjoyed this place, as it was the best hotel. we had a really good stay in this festive venue. the location was good and perfect, within a close distance from a 223m-wide square. the hotel was in a nice area.

    The staff here are attentive and friendly, offering large, luxurious rooms with park views and well-appointed bathrooms, although the room can get a bit stuffy at times.

    The Kempinski in Dalian is a great choice for expats living in China. It is a nice place to "escape" from daily life when you don't have time for a proper vacation. The staff is friendly and relaxed. It's easy to feel comfortable and at-home there. The spa, pool and health centre are fantastic and there are some great restaurants. The German restaurant downstairs has fantastic beer. Compared to 5 star hotels in other countries or regions, the Kempinski is a real bargain.

    The decor in the rooms is a little spartan. There is no art or color.

    My room was spacious and comfortable, complete with a large bed, a personal safe, and a desk. the location couldn't have been better - right by a lovely park and close to both the metro 🚇 and buses.

    Dtayed on 3 occassions during a 2 week business trip. On each occasion the room was excellent, quiet, and could not be faulted. Good restaurants, with a real german food and beer in the bierkeller for when you want a change from Chinese food. The extra cost of the Executive floor is well worth it.

    The only niggle is that because parking space in front of the hotel is very limited, the over-zealous attendants will not even let a car in to drop guests off. ( This happened not just once, but several times). Walking in from the street in a downpour isn't what you would expect for a hotel which is 5* in all other respects.
